Documentaries can shift public opinion, mobilise support and inspire action.
Ticketyboo is an impact film created to help raise awareness of the issues that people living with a dementia diagnosis face in the community. Fear and discrimination are significant obstacles to inclusivity and support.
Hosting a screening of Ticketyboo is a great way to start a conversation about dementia.
Community screenings are a compelling way of engaging audiences with the work you do, and motivating them to act. Dementia is the second leading cause of death in Australia and the leading cause of death for women. In 2022, there are an estimated 487,500 Australians living with some type of dementia. Without a medical breakthrough, the number of people with the disease is expected to increase to 1.1 million by 2058. More than two-thirds (68.1%) of aged care residents have moderate to severe cognitive impairment. In 2022, it is estimated that 1.6 million people in Australia are involved in the care of someone living with dementia.
By holding a community screening of Ticketyboo, you can:
- Raise awareness for your organisation and attract new members of the community
- Build support and understanding of the work you do
- Grow your supporter base and attract volunteers
– connect the community with key decision-makers and influencers, like your local MP, RSL or social service provider - Fundraise for your organisation by selling tickets to the screening
